What is the purpose of reading this story and writing and publishing this story? Is it exploitative? Is it torture porn? Has this tale been put into any sociological or psychological context? Has the court system in Japan changed since? How many women are raped in Japan annually? The sexualization of the school-girl look is well known in that country. One commenter writes: "I’m glad her story is being told and I hope that she is now at peace" as if Ms. Tinning's words have some spiritual value. Not to mention that the chosen photograph has nothing to do with the victim. I truly feel guilty in being one of the readers of this submission that has already earned 653 claps.
